I have to go to Leipzig on business (to the European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery conference). What a great trip to build a vacation around!

I'm meeting a few of my publishers (Heide, Pam, Carol and Tina) in Berlin on the 7th, where we'll all take a few days to sightsee. From there, we'll travel to Leipzig for the conference.

On the 14th, I'll head over to Bologna, Italy, where I'm meeting Patti (Kurt is not making good on his "one international trip every two years" promise... some excuse about someone needing to stay home and take care of the dog :).

Patti's never been to Italy before, so we're going to spend most of our time in Firenze and Venezia, with a little foray in the middle to go to Urbino with Luca (who lives in Ferrara). We'll fly back on the 21st after a whirlwind tour of part of Italy. This will be the longest I've been away from Coda since we got her two years ago! I hope she will be good to Kurt when I'm away.
